Oplys

What to read, watch and play next, in an order that means something.

Oplys turns your lists into one clear next pick for each, arcs that move from gentle to intense, and a journal of what stayed with you. An AI of your choice does the curating, and nothing changes until you approve it.

What it does

One next pick. Arcs, not piles.

Books, films and games side by side, ordered so each one leads somewhere.

One next pick

For books, films and games, Oplys shows one next pick each. Tap “Not now”, say why, and it adapts.

Arcs, not piles

Your top 20 per medium is arranged into themed arcs that start gently and alternate heavy with lighter things. A large ranked backlog waits behind them.

Help me pick

Three quick taps for time, energy and what kind give one pick. Or filter by short or long, light or heavy, or “an evening”.

Series in order

A later part never comes up before an earlier one you haven't finished.

Battles, journeys and a journal

Head-to-head battles settle your top 5s. Journeys run across media. The journal and your year in review keep what stayed with you.

Bring your history

Import from Letterboxd, Goodreads and Steam. It's read on your device, you see a preview first, and you can undo.

Search and add, with covers

Find things through Open Library and Wikipedia, or paste a link. Each item gets a cover and an About section that stays closed, so nothing is spoiled.

Share cards and friends

Share cards sized for Instagram. Friends see your top 5s only if you choose, and can recommend things to each other.

Notes, versions and backups

Mark intense items with content notes. Oplys saves a version before every import and once a day, and reminds you to keep a backup.

Your AI, your files

Bring your own AI.

There is no AI inside Oplys: no API keys, no costs, and nothing it can do behind your back. You carry a small file to the AI you already use, and bring its answer home.

  1. Send a brief

A small file with your lists, and what you finished, skipped and felt.

  2. Ask your AI

Upload it to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or another AI you like.

  3. Preview its answer

Import the AI's reply and read the list of changes it proposes.

  4. Apply, or don't

Nothing changes until you tap Apply. A version is saved first, so you can undo.

Your top 5s, worth sharing

Battles settle the order. Share cards turn your top 5s and your journeys into images made for Instagram, with designed placeholders where a cover can't be used.

Private by design

Your lists stay yours.

Works offline

Everything is saved on your device first and works without a connection. Sync catches up later.

Private sync

Your devices sync through your own account, merging changes item by item.

Very little leaves

Only titles, creators and years go to Open Library, Wikipedia and Wikidata to find covers and facts. Imports never leave your device.
